I seem to be buried among bodies
Manifestations of all my past lies;
Old mistakes and the built up regrets
The complete destruction of family ties.
I'm suffocating in the confines of my self made grave,
Closing myself in with bad choices and this pain
Pretending my heart isn't the only thing hurting
Repressing uncontrollable tears so close to rain.
Once before he stood there ready to take my sorrow
Told me that he loved me and that he always would.
He saw every microscopic scar and knew every jagged edge
But somehow he stood undamaged, bearing all he could,
I begin to remember he never asked for my troubles
How I paid no attention, and just gave them away
Now we are both underwater, drowning from the weight
Endless torture stretched out for a seemingly eternal day.
Then one day, every little white lie broke down
Because one became two, and we lost track of the truth
We both lost sight of why 'us' together, felt so good
We were too lost in past bliss, stuck on old youth
We lost the vision of the best of us, what was true and honest
Losing whatever was left, the only feelings that were real
Forgetting that we once loved each other enough to stay;
Now we have forgotten everything that we felt and still feel
So here we are now, suffocating on endless regret
Our old selves buried under a delicate lie
Regretting the old fights and our heartache
And wishing for one last goodbye
Manifestations of all my past lies;
Old mistakes and the built up regrets
The complete destruction of family ties.
I'm suffocating in the confines of my self made grave,
Closing myself in with bad choices and this pain
Pretending my heart isn't the only thing hurting
